Rott - Out Of Time

Rott had a very different sound, the guitar and drums over all had a mellow feel about them, but the sound itself remained heavy. This sounded really good because the instruments themselves blended very well. However, even though personally I liked the ability they showed to blend overall a very nice sound, so many of the songs sounded the same. No one song stood out, it really felt like one long track.

The vocals overall were not great, I felt that it was more like just talking and sounded overall uninspired, and a lot of being into a band and them standing out to you is feeling the emotion and passion in the songs. Meaning that when you listen to a song you should be able to feel a small part of them in the music in the words, these aren’t just words but apart of them. However, the first half of the album was strong, it just faded down the stretch. This is just how I feel about the album but we all have varying tastes so be sure to try it for yourself.

Review by Jessica Clingempeel:
After listening to Rott’s album I can not help but to be a bit disappointed. The songs were great when it came to the lyrics, but every song just sounded the same. For me a band should go all out, show the world what they have and give it their all. Bands like Nightwish, Epica and Within Temptation I can feel the emotion in the songs from not only the lyrics but by the instruments and music and I can play them over and over and have a connection to them. With Rott, it is just the opposite. It is like one long track split up into different numbers. It is still a good album, just not great. So, don’t throw out this album just yet. Give it a listen to. I know there will be an even better album in the future because Rott has potential.

I will lean my focus to one particular song though, Look Around, which is the first track of the album. This song I felt a strong connection to as the music and lyrics moved me. The best track in my opinion on the whole album and I can actually sit there all day and just listen to this one song.
